About Port Coquitlam

Port Coquitlam was incorporated as a city on March 7, 1913. The factor that led to the city being incorporated was its geographical location. It lies by the Fraser River on the south, by the Coquitlam River on the west, on the east by the Pitt River and the north by the beautiful mountains. The area allows easy access to the rivers and is close to Vancouver.

The city has a long history dating back to the early 1800s, heritage and culture that can still be seen to date.
